Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; CRCST certification required within 18 months of hire or meet state grandfathering guidelines.
• Training provided to obtain the required certification.
• Certification in CRCST or equivalently recognized credentials encouraged if already held.

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store and distribute reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Collect used and contaminated items for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually clean supplies and operate decontamination equipment.
• Prepare and pack decontaminated items for sterilization.
• Monitor sterilization equipment and maintain records of procedures.

Job Summary: $1500 Signing Bonus, if eligible; Full-Time Days; REQUIRES: High School Diploma or GED, CRCST certification required within 18 months of hire, or must meet state grandfathering guidelines. Job Duties:

• Responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and medical equipment, ensuring their proper functionality and sterility to prevent infection within a healthcare facility, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols established by regulatory agencies.
• Collecting used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
• Manually cleaning supplies of contaminants, removing waste matter, and operating and maintaining decontamination equipment.
• Preparing and packing decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
• Monitoring and operating sterilization equipment.
• Acts as a preceptor new employees.
• Examining supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.
• Testing and reporting any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment.
• Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
• Preparing and delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures, and medical carts.
• Maintaining records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
• Controlling the inventory, reordering supplies, and checking expiration dates.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
