Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis in Creve Coeur, MO is seeking a Sterile Processing leader to oversee decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of instrumentation to clinical rooms.

The role requires a high school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience; CSPDT certification is preferred. The candidate will maintain records, support high-level disinfection and train staff in instrument handling.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles, inspects, cleans, tests functionality and assembles instrumentation and power equipment according to instruction for use and industry standards.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam and low temperature sterilizers, notifying supervisor of needs or malfunctions.
• Maintains records of sterile processing, inventory, usage, and damage reports for infection prevention compliance.
• Collaborates with leadership on planning and training for sterile processing; oversees duties and improvements.
• Coordinates maintenance of space, equipment, and supplies.
• Trains others in proper processing and handling of instruments and scopes.
