Job summary

East Hawaii Region of Hawai`i Health Systems Corporation (HHSC) is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Lead for Hilo Benioff Medical Center. You will supervise the sterile processing team, oversee decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of instruments for diverse surgical services while maintaining infection control standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication, adherence to mission/vision/values, and hospital quality/compliance expectations.

Qualifications

Three (3) years of work experience in a sterile processing department supporting surgical services.
Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization procedures; aseptic techniques; universal precautions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Distribute sterile and contaminated supplies to nursing inpatient and clinic departments; inventory and stock supply carts; fill requisitions as required.
Assist with sterilization of specialty instruments for various surgical services and aid OR staff with equipment needs.
Assist with room preparation and clean-up to ensure timely turnover of surgical suites and optimize resource use.
Oversee, train and supervise other employees during assigned shift when needed.
