Job summary

WellStar Health System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Sterile Processing Technician to coordinate surgical instrument processing and ensure operating rooms are stocked and ready for procedures.

The role oversees the Sterile Processing Tech team, liaises with OR staff, and participates in performance improvement initiatives. The Lead will manage workflow, schedules, and training, while maintaining regulatory documentation and safety standards in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Associates preferred.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required on hire.
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience.
• CV instrumentation knowledge required.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical instrument processing and workflow implementation.
• Ensure ORs are stocked with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Lead SPT team; liaise with OR staff and management.
• Support performance improvement initiatives and troubleshoot workflow issues.
• Oversee designated service lines with regular communication to leadership.
• Maintain regulatory documentation and safety standards in sterile processing.
