Job summary

VCU Health seeks a Sterile Processing Tech Senior under supervision to ensure instruments and supplies are prepared for use. The role assembles case carts per preference cards and serves as a technical resource to Sterile Processing Technicians.

The position requires CRCST/CSPDT or CST/TS-C/CORST certification, or CST-based credentials, with at least two years of related experience. A high school diploma is required; IA HCSMM prep course is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent
• Two (2) or more years previous work experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or prior Surgical Technician experience
• IAHCSMM certification prep course (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assembles and prepares instrument sets and case carts.
• Serves as a technical resource to Sterile Processing Technicians.
• Decontaminates and sterilizes all instruments and equipment per procedures.
• Checks inventory and maintains par levels for instruments and supplies.
• Follows OSHA and TJC guidelines.
• Access to medications and related supplies may be required.
