Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Sterile Process Technician to perform decontamination and sterilization of instruments, prepare case carts, and ensure all supplies are ready for procedures. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, and you must obtain CRCST/CSPDT/CST/TS-C/CORST certification within 24 months of hire.

Prior sterile processing or healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• CRCST, CSPDT, CST, TS-C or CORST certification preferred
• Must achieve CRCST, CSPDT, CST, TS-C or CORST certification within 24 months of hire
• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate and sterilize all instruments and equipment according to procedures.
• Maintain inventory and par levels of all instruments and supplies.
• Follows OSHA and TJC guidelines.
• Assemble and prepare basic instrument sets and case carts.
• Job duties may include the access to and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
