Job summary

Commercial Steel Erection, Inc. seeks a Steel Erection Superintendent to oversee field crews in Madison Heights, ensuring safe, on-time construction of steel structures.

You will plan, organize, and supervise activities, read blueprints, manage crane operations, and enforce OSHA/DOT compliance while coordinating with the Project Manager and foremen. Travel may be required. This is a full-time, on-site role in Madison Heights with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and prioritize construction work.
• Inspect equipment, structures, and materials for quality and safety.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA and DOT and company rules.
• Manage multiple crews and supervise foremen on site.
• Interpret blueprints and calculate basic beam/column loads.
• Direct crane operations and equipment setup/teardown.
• Complete defect reports and communicate findings to the office.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
