Job summary

Sure Steel, Inc. is seeking a General Foreman I in Georgia to supervise steel erection and installation projects. You will lead ironworkers, welders, and operators to deliver on-time, within-budget outcomes while enforcing safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and a track record of supervising construction crews in steel fabrication. This on-site position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and collaborative problem-solving on dynamic job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in construction management, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in structural/steel construction, PEMB, with focus on steel erection and installation.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate construction crews.
• Thorough understanding of construction techniques, safety regulations, and quality standards related to steel fabrication and erection.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in reading construction plans, drawings, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead construction crews, including ironworkers, welders, and equipment operators, to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
• Conduct quality inspections of work performed by construction crews to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials, tools, and equipment needed for construction activities, ensuring availability and readiness for use.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and construction crews.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including work progress, manpower, equipment usage, and safety incidents.
