Job summary

Everpure is seeking a highly motivated Hardware Design Engineer for Pure’s Datastore team. You will plan, lead, and implement SSD hardware designs from concept through production, contributing to architecture, design, validation, and sustaining efforts.

The role emphasizes testing, signal integrity, and automating parts of the workflow. You will apply knowledge of PCIe, DDR, NAND, SPI, and I2C while guiding junior engineers and coordinating with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or similar field.
• Experience working on SSD hardware designs.
• Experience validating hardware at electrical, SI, protocol and functional levels.
• Experience with high speed oscilloscopes and differential probes.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, implement, and debug SSD hardware designs from concept through production.
• Contribute to all phases of the product lifecycle including architecture, design, documentation, validation, and sustaining.
• Drive interoperability testing across server/storage systems and SSDs.
• Diagnose and resolve HW-related issues with internal teams and external partners.
• Apply knowledge of PCIe, DDR, NAND, SPI, and I2C bus technologies.
• Evaluate system-level tradeoffs in mechanical, thermal, power, and signal integrity design.
• Review test plans with diagnostics/test engineers to ensure coverage.
• Lead failure analysis and root cause investigations for field issues.
• Incorporate automation and AI to enhance SSD design and validation processes.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
