Job summary

Breakthrough Montessori Public Charter School is seeking a SPED Teacher in Washington, DC, to lead a classroom for our high-needs population. You will provide individualized and small-group instruction using Montessori-aligned strategies and collaborate with the Director of Student Support.

You will participate in IEP meetings, monitor progress, and coordinate with families and service providers to ensure access to Montessori materials and supports.

Qualifications

• Experience with IEP meetings and case management.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff.
• Commitment to anti-bias/anti-racist pedagogy.
• Strong organizational and data-tracking skills.
• Willingness to engage in Montessori-based interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead in a classroom for high-needs students, with individualized and small-group instruction.
• Attend IEP meetings and maintain student data binders.
• Design and implement reading, math, and other interventions.
• Coordinate with service providers and communicate with families.
• Substitute and support during arrivals, dismissals, and special events.
