Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Miramar, FL, seeks a Specimen Processing Group Lead for a night shift (10:00 PM–7:00 AM) with weekend rotation. The role involves supervising 8–12 technicians, coordinating scheduling, and ensuring process adherence and quality in specimen processing.

Responsibilities include training, problem resolution, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Internal candidates are given priority; a High School diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Internal candidates minimum of one year in SPT III/related role
• Experience in Specimen Processing preferred
• Medical background preferred with terminology applicable to a clinical laboratory
• Able to supervise 8–12 staff and coordinate processes

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates proficiency in all duties in Specimen Processing department
• Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution with technical departments
• Assists SPTs in proper test selection and problem resolution
• Answers and clarifies employee questions regarding processing
• Provides feedback to supervisor when problems arise
• Completes shift paperwork and ensures staff cleanup after shift
• Monitors supply inventory and orders supplies as needed
• Repairs and maintains department equipment and notifies when repairs are required
• Assists in training, cross training and auditing functions
• Performs all other job duties as assigned
• May assist supervisor with prioritizing work and monitoring production
• Coaches for improved performance and maintains a positive work environment
• Ensures staffing including weekends and holidays and helps manage overtime
• Suggests improvements to workflow and adheres to policies
