Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center is seeking a Lead Specialist - Surgery to provide advanced administrative support within the Surgery Ama Genl department. The role requires coordinating travel, CME tracking, credentialing, inventory, and purchase orders while managing Qgenda and call schedules for both TTUHSC hospitals.

The position offers full-time hours, a Monday–Friday schedule, and compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus six years of related field experience; additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and budget guidelines.

  • Provides direct support to departmental Faculty as assigned by the Administrator.
  • Maintains leave balances and CME tracking for all Faculty.
  • Coordinates with Medical Administrative Secretary for CME travel and credits.
  • Serves as an integral contact for the administrative department, receiving and answering all requests from internal and external HSC contacts.
  • Manages Qgenda and call schedules for both hospitals.
  • Assists in completing and maintaining credentialing information for Providers.
  • Maintains departmental inventory annually.
  • Creates all purchase orders.
  • Processes travel reimbursements and purchasing transactions as needed.
  • Assists with coordination and main contact for ATLS trauma courses.

Position Description

Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Pay Grade Minimum: 15.75

Pay Grade Maximum: 18.50

Pay Basis: Hourly

Schedule Details: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides direct support to departmental Faculty as assigned by the Administrator.
  • Maintains leave balances and CME tracking for all Faculty.

  • Serves as the primary person to manage Qgenda and the call schedules for both hospitals.

  • Processes travel reimbursements and purchasing transactions as needed.
  • Assists with coordination and main contact for ATLS trauma courses.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Business Office environment.
  • Experience processing travel reimbursements preferred.
Required Qualifications

Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
