Job summary

Richmond City Public Schools seeks a seasoned coordinator to lead Exceptional Education Systems & Processes. The role focuses on policy development, program compliance, and system-wide staff development to improve outcomes for students with disabilities across the division.

The coordinator will supervise data reporting to the Virginia Department of Education, coordinate professional development, and collaborate with school leaders and families to ensure equity and adherence to VA IEP

Qualifications

A postgraduate professional license with an endorsement in Special Education is required.
Endorsement in Educational Leadership or Juris Doctorate preferred.
Experience leading division-level compliance and due process matters for students with disabilities.
Experience with IEP development software (IEP Online, VA IEP, etc.).
Experience monitoring performance indicators to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement system-wide policies for Exceptional Education.
Monitor compliance of programs at school and division levels.
Oversee data collection and reporting for the Virginia Department of Education.
Lead staff development addressing compliance and instructional outcomes.
Collaborate with divisions offices to coordinate services for students with disabilities.
Support dispute resolution processes regarding special education.
