Qualifications

• Postgraduate license in Special Education required.
• Knowledge of federal/state mandates for students with disabilities.
• Experience leading division-level compliance and due process.
• Experience with IEP development software (IEP Online, VA IEP).
• Strong communication, planning, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor compliance for Exceptional Education at school and division levels.
• Develop and implement system-wide staff development plans.
• Provide accurate data for the Virginia Department of Education’s State Performance Plan.
• Facilitate dispute resolution with the Virginia Department of Education and OCR.
• Collaborate with Pupil Placement, School Discipline, Testing, and Assessment offices.
