Job summary

Melmark New England is seeking a Lead Special Education Teacher to provide instruction for students aged 3–21 with emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs in a structured classroom. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth.

The role requires enrollment in a Master's program in Special Education, a valid US driver’s license, and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Master's Degree in Special Education.
• This position requires being able to float every 90 days and at the end of the year and working on Master's Program in Severe Special Education. Please understand that annual salary increases are based on both good job performance and availability of appropriate funding.
• A valid US driver's license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old.
• Prefer at least two (2) years experience with specialized populations. Advanced skills in educational and clinical services will be required in this role.
• Works cooperatively with all members of the multidisciplinary team (Nursing Services, Vocational Services, Clinical Services, Residential Staff, Allied Health Services), families and other

Responsibilities

• Provide educational instruction to assigned students in a structured classroom environment designed to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth.
• Develop teaching plans appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically children and adolescents (ages 3-21) with emotional, developmental and/or behavioral needs.
• Supervises ABAC's.
