Great Hearts Prairie View Upper School seeks a Special Education Coordinator to lead the SPED department, supervise teachers and TAs, and ensure high‑quality IEP development and compliance. You will guide data reviews, coordinate meetings, and foster collaboration across general education and ESS teams.

You will partner with the headmaster to reinforce Great Hearts’ educational philosophy, model mentorship, and uphold state requirements.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience as a special education coordinator.
• Experience as SPED coordinator in Great Hearts school preferred.
• Experience with special education evaluation process preferred.
• TX Special Education Certification and Generalist or Core Academic Subject Area relevant to grades served.

Responsabilidades

• Oversees caseload distribution discussions and final assignments of students to SPED Teachers.
• Facilitates initial and triennial Review of Existing Data and Review of Additional Data meetings.
• Coordinates, facilitates, and executes annual IEP meetings for students on caseload.
• Manages related service provider relationships and coordinates with school psychologists.
• Assists the ESS team lead and supports the headmaster in communicating SPED roles to the community.
• Updates program information in the SIS for students entering, changing eligibility, or exiting special education.
