Job summary

Nemours Children's Health seeks a Lead SPD Technician for 40 hours per week with periodic travel to Pennsylvania and New Jersey Ambulatory Surgery Facilities. The role blends hands-on sterile processing 50% of the time with leadership and departmental oversight for high-quality patient care and operational excellence.

Responsibilities include guiding SPD staff, maintaining regulatory standards, ensuring instrument readiness, coordinating with Perioperative Services, and supporting QA efforts

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required upon hire and maintained.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
• PA clearances must be completed by start date.
• CIS/CER/CHL certifications preferred by role.

Responsibilities

• Lead SPD staff and oversee daily sterile processing operations.
• Ensure inspection, decontamination, preparation, and sterilization standards.
• Review instrumentation needs and recommend equipment upgrades.
• Conduct rounds in SPD and OR to address issues.
• Perform quality control checks on instrument sets and trays.
• Assist with QA reports, tracing tray accuracy and biologics results.
• Coordinate instrument loaner handling with Perioperative Services.
• Maintain the SPD tracking system and data entry for trays.
