Job summary

Nemours is seeking a 3P - 11:30P Lead SPD Technician. The role covers 40 hours weekly with periodic rotation to Pennsylvania and New Jersey Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.

Candidate will lead SPD staff, oversee instrument processing, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting operations across Delaware, PA, and NJ. The position combines hands-on sterile processing and administrative leadership, with responsibilities spanning quality control, equipment needs, and staff

Qualifications

• CRCST certification required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
• BLS certification through AHA required within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred CIS, CER, CHL certifications.
• Must obtain PA clearances by start date.

Responsibilities

• Oversee SPD operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Provide guidance to Certified SPD Technicians in daily activities.
• Review instrumentation needs and coordinate with SPD Manager.
• Conduct daily rounds in SPD and OR to address issues.
• Perform quality checks on instruments and trays per inventory sheets.
• Assist with QA reports including tray accuracy and sterilization results.
• Order supplies and manage instrument sharpening/repairs with logistics.
• Maintain inventory control and par levels.
• Coordinate with perioperative staff and vendors for loaner instrumentation.
• Maintain the SPM system with tray data for multiple locations.
• Assist in interviewing candidates and orient new SPD staff.
