Job summary

Peraton, Fort Belvoir, is seeking an intermediate Software Test Engineer for Flight Safety systems in a national security space mission context. You will test, validate, and integrate mission-critical FS tools supporting conjunction assessment, space object tracking, and ground threat deconfliction analysis.

You will assist in test planning, system validation, and operational verification, working with developers, engineers, and operators to ensure safe, reliable tools for 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated polygraph.
• Experience testing Flight Safety or astrodynamics tools is preferred.
• Ability to design and execute software test plans and validate results.

Responsibilities

• Support integration and verification testing of new FS data sources and capabilities.
• Design, execute, and document test plans, regression tests, and validation scenarios.
• Use Bash and Python scripts to support automated testing in Linux environments.
• Validate conjunction assessment workflows and orbit propagation outputs.
• Collaborate with engineers and operators to ensure safe mission operations.
• Produce test documentation, validation reports, and training materials.
