Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Flight Safety Systems Engineer to support a national security space warfighting program. You will optimize, test and integrate critical FS tools, perform conjunction assessment and ground threat deconfliction, and develop TTPs for 24/7 flight safety operations.

You will guide the team, provide OJT, and communicate with leadership and partner agencies in a sensitive, classified environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years as Systems Engineer/Software Integrator/Software Developer/Software Testing or CA screenings, or 12+ years in lieu of degree
• STK Level 2 certification in lieu of working experience
• Active TS/SCI with adjudicated Poly

Responsibilities

• Lead integration of new data sources in legacy and developing system tools
• Test software in test environments to mitigate bug risks upon deployment
• Improve TTPs for flight safety and mission protection operations; inform training material changes
• Execute Bash and Python scripts in Linux OS within classified networks
• Screen pre/post-launch TLEs and on-orbit ephemeris against RSO catalog to mitigate collisions
• Operate orbit propagating software and deliver products to owner/operator
• Lead flight safety meetings and participate in training and exercises
• Document software and training material and provide OJT to team members
