Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Spacecraft Integrated Systems Chief Engineer in Phoenix, AZ.

You will provide technical leadership across the full lifecycle of spacecraft and spaceflight systems, acting as the technical authority to ensure product integrity and mission success while guiding diverse engineering teams. This role requires a deep systems engineering background, hands-on experience with complex aerospace programs, and the ability to mentor engineers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience on aerospace/defense programs.
  • Extensive experience in developing, integrating, testing, and deploying complex aerospace/spaceflight systems.
  • Demonstrated success as a technical authority or engineering leader on large-scale programs.
  • Deep understanding of systems engineering, spacecraft architecture, requirements management, and verification.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams through complex challenges.
  • Ability to develop technical strategies and influence priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to engage customers and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for spacecraft integrated systems across all lifecycle phases.
  • Be accountable for product integrity, technical excellence, and mission success across programs.
  • Lead large multidisciplinary engineering initiatives spanning systems engineering, mechanical, electronics, software, and propulsion.
  • Contribute to technology strategies and long-term roadmaps for spacecraft products.
  • Establish technical standards ensuring performance, reliability, and mission assurance.
  • Provide leadership in architecture, requirements, integration, verification, and qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with Moog processes and space industry standards.
  • Own critical technical decisions and development documentation.
  • Lead reviews, risk assessments, and development assurance activities.
  • Act as primary technical advisor to customers and executives.
  • Mentor engineers and build organizational technical capability.
