Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA seeks a Manager of the Component Analysis & Space Structures Section to lead analyses of spacecraft structures and electronic hardware. You will guide a team, review methods, and coordinate with program offices to ensure structural integrity under combined mechanical and thermal loads.

Ideal candidates hold a STEM degree, 5 years in structural design and FEA, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (or equivalent).
• 5 years of structural design, analysis, and test methodologies.
• Ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams.
• Expertise in finite element analysis, material characterization, and structural test techniques.
• Ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Identify issues and needs in structural integrity of components and spacecraft structures under combined mechanical and thermal loads.
• Direct staff to conduct independent analyses and monitor contractor programs.
• Review design, analysis, and test methodologies for space vehicle structures and subsystems.
• Develop relationships with space vehicle program offices responsible for hardware.
• Manage staffing, mentoring, direction, and communications with upper management.
• Develop staff through assignments, mentoring, training, and feedback.
• Duties may change or new ones be assigned.
