Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Structural Technologies Section Manager to lead a newly formed team focused on advanced structural analysis for launch vehicle and spacecraft programs.

You will oversee in-house code development, AI/ML integration, and automation tools, mentor staff, manage priorities, and ensure technical leadership and rigorous validation across our department while maintaining a strong customer focus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering mechanics, or related STEM field.
• 5 years of experience in structural design, finite element analysis, and test methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead cross-discipline technical teams and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of analysis specialists providing direct support to launch vehicle and spacecraft programs with advanced structural analysis.
• Identify complex structural challenges requiring advanced methodologies including plasticity, progressive damage, probabilistic analysis, and uncertainty quantification.
• Oversee development and maintenance of in-house codes, automation tools, and workflow improvements.
