Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced RF engineer to take technical leadership of RF communications systems for next-generation spacecraft. You will own end-to-end performance, from concept to testing, enabling real-time telemetry and data flows for reusable spacecraft operations. The role requires strong leadership, lifelong learning, and readiness to travel.

Minimum qualification includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Physics with 8+ years in avionics and communications, plus EM

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Physics or related field required.
  • 8+ years in avionics and communication systems development/verification.
  • Knowledge of RF systems, antennas, and waveforms.
  • Experience with EM simulations (HFSS/CST/TICRA).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Proven leadership of technical teams and mentoring.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible for relevant status.

Responsibilities

  • Technical lead for RF communications systems, mentoring and reviewing technical work.
  • Architect and deploy RF systems for real-time telemetry and data flows.
  • Own end-to-end system performance: link budget, phase noise, coverage, verification.
  • Design and execute RF test campaigns across bench and field environments.
  • Drive procurement strategy and ensure hardware meets mission requirements.
  • Define and maintain system architecture and performance parameters.
  • Coordinate interfaces across space relay platforms, ground stations, and subsystems.
  • Support hardware integration labs, vehicle testing, and reviews.
