Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA is seeking a Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) Engineer - Level 6 to support space vehicle and payload control systems.

You will translate mission objectives into GNC requirements, develop models and simulations, implement trackers and controllers, and lead a small team. A U.S. government security clearance is required or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 14+ years experience (or Master's with 12+, PhD with 10+).
• Willing to obtain U.S. Government security clearance.
• Experience with attitude-control/state-estimation algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink or C/C++.
• Experience with GNC modeling, simulation, and verification/validation.
• Ability to perform complex kinematics, dynamics, and control analyses.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission objectives into clear GNC requirements.
• Collaborate to select GNC sensors, actuators, and algorithms.
• Develop and validate high-fidelity GNC models and simulations.
• Design, implement, and verify GNC trackers, filters, and controllers.
• Build and integrate software tools to support GNC operations.
• Provide technical leadership to a small GNC team.
