Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Level 2 Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) Engineer for an on-site role in Dulles, VA or McLean, VA. The position requires a TS clearance and offers a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.

You will lead procurement, testing, and integration of GNC hardware, work with DoD, NASA, and commercial customers, and drive design analyses and test results for space system missions.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS clearance required, with ability to obtain SAP/SCI.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years experience; or Master’s with 0+ years.
• Experience in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
• Experience in GNC subsystem design, analysis, testing (ADCS).
• Familiarity with GNC space components: Coarse Sun Sensor Assemblies, Star Tracker Assemblies, GPS Receivers, IMU/Inertial Measurement Units, Reaction Wheel Assemblies, Magno-Torquer Bars.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of GNC hardware as cognizant engineer (CogE).
• Lead domestic and international supplier meetings for GNC hardware procurement and testing.
• Provide status tracking and close action items for GNC hardware lifecycle.
• Perform trade studies for GNC hardware for proposals.
• Conduct GNC component requirement reviews via compliance matrices.
• Design and procure GNC test equipment (EGSE/GSE).
• Lead integration and testing of GNC hardware with spacecraft.
• Troubleshoot GNC hardware anomalies using manuals and docs.
• Communicate engineering analyses and test results effectively.
