Job summary

Starcloud is hiring a senior electrical engineer to own the spacecraft electrical architecture, lead the EE team, and drive design, testing, and flight qualification of electrical systems. You will prototype novel architectures, validate them on the ground, and verify performance in orbit, shaping a new era of in-space data centers.

Qualifications

  • This role requires 8+ years of hands-on electrical engineering experience in design, analysis, hardware development, integration, and test.
  • Deep knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, batteries, solar interfaces, grounding, EMI/EMC, and avionics interfaces.
  • Track record delivering electrical hardware optimized for performance, reliability, manufacturability, cost and schedule.
  • Comfortable managing engineers while staying hands-on in fast hardware development environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical architecture: power generation, storage, distribution, conversion, avionics interfaces, harnessing, and grounding across spacecraft and payloads.
  • Lead trades: power architecture, battery sizing, solar array interfaces, redundancy, fault protection, and avionics integration.
  • Prototype novel architectures, test on the ground, and validate in orbit.
  • Deliver end-to-end flight hardware from concept to launch.
  • Own electrical test at board, subsystem, and spacecraft levels; turn data into improved designs.
  • Build and mentor the electrical engineering team, establish design reviews and verification workflows.
  • Partner cross-functionally with mechanical, thermal, software, and operations teams.
