Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to own mission-level electrical systems across one or more active programs. You will design wiring harnesses, allocate power, and ensure integration of payloads with ICD-driven interfaces, while coordinating with hardware, mechanical, and systems teams.

You’ll read ICDs to guide harness development, support CD&H architecture, and interpret EMI/EMC test plans to meet electrical requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in electrical systems engineering, including harness design and power distribution.
• Ability to read and translate ICDs into harness and interconnect designs.
• Experience developing system component requirements and interconnect diagrams.
• Ability to interpret EMI/EMC test plans and ensure compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical systems scope for assigned missions, integrating payloads and designing wiring harnesses.
• Read ICDs to guide harness design and system integration decisions.
• Support CD&H architecture and requirements for assigned missions.
• Interpret EMI/EMC test plans and ensure electrical compatibility requirements.
• Develop system component requirements and interconnect diagrams tying hardware together at the mission level.
• Collaborate with board design engineers and program teams, contributing to board design when needed.
• Serve as a key electrical point of contact for a mission, coordinating with hardware, mechanical, and systems teams.
