Job summary

ATR International seeks an Electrical Design Engineer, Digital, to join our Bus Electronics Design team in San Jose, CA. You’ll own the electrical design of onboard compute, memory blocks, FPGA interfaces, and high-speed communications for space avionics hardware from concept to flight.

You will lead design decisions, prototype hardware, perform testing, and collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software, and test teams to ensure successful spaceflight applications. A U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in electrical/avionics hardware.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident required.
• Experience designing digital electronics and onboard computing.
• Proficient in schematics and PCB layout for high-speed communications.
• Experience with circuit stress, derating, and worst-case analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design of next-gen compute for avionics systems from concept through validation.
• Own hardware through design, production, and on-orbit performance.
• Design, analyze, and test digital electronics hardware for spacecraft.
• Document test plans and perform validation with benchtop and environmental tests.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, software/firmware, test, and supply chain teams.
• Ensure compliance with space-grade standards and safety requirements.
