Job summary

Astranis Space Technologies in San Francisco is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the avionics hardware design for our satellite platforms. You will own architecture for the avionics subsystems, drive trades, and work with mechanical, thermal, software, RTL, RF, GNC, and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable, radiation-tolerant electronics for space. This role offers a fast-paced environment, significant ownership, and opportunities to recruit and grow the hardware team.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in electrical or computer engineering.
• 5+ years of professional experience with fast-paced product design cycles.
• 5+ years of board level experience designing hardware from concept through production.
• Strong analog/mixed-signal circuit design skills.
• Hands-on design and development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop space-grade electronics for satellite avionics.
• Lead electronics design from concept development to qualification.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering functions.
• Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet reliability needs.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and communicate progress.
• Help build optimal hardware development processes and workflows.
• Assist in recruiting and growing the hardware team.
