Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company seeks a Sous Chef for the Sky House kitchen in Schweitzer, Idaho. You will support the Head Chef, supervise kitchen staff, ensure food quality and hygiene, and help with menu planning and inventory.

The role requires leadership, enthusiasm, and teamwork to embody Schweitzer's collaborative culture. Work is 100% inside with exposure to kitchen hazards; 4+ years in restaurant kitchens and strong knife skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of restaurant kitchen and line cook experience.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion standards, and hygiene practices.
• Comfort working with Front of House and Back of House teams.

Responsibilities

• Train staff in collaboration with the Head Chef.
• Ensure prep is done according to recipes and portions.
• Lead kitchen staff through service and maintain quality.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations and inventory management.
• Maintain high food quality and safe handling practices.
