Chartwells Higher Ed, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring immediately for full-time sous chef positions at Richard Stockton College in Galloway, NJ. The location is 101 Vera King Ferris Drive.

This full-time schedule varies by location and online applications are accepted. Prior sous chef experience is preferred and duties include supervising cooks, ensuring food safety, and coordinating kitchen operations.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a sous chef is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates.
• Stores food in designated areas following safety procedures.
• Ensures proper food handling, portion control and serving temperatures.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and workstation.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Explains daily menu items to staff and customers.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitors inventory and deliveries; notifies supervisor of low supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
