Job summary

InterContinental New Orleans is seeking a Sous Chef to support and oversee kitchen operations. This critical role involves coordinating cooks and ensuring high-quality meal preparation.

The Sous Chef will act as second-in-command, ensuring culinary standards and smooth operations in the Chef’s absence. You will supervise staff, provide hands-on training in advanced culinary techniques, and prepare special dishes during peak times and events.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of kitchen supervisory experience.
• 3 years of kitchen operations experience with at least 1 year as lead cook.
• Ability to manage a diverse kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff for proper cooking methods.
• Provide hands-on training in culinary techniques.
• Prepare and carve meats during peak service.
• Assume responsibility for the kitchen when Chef is absent.
• Prep food products using standardized techniques.
• Assess food quality and cooking temperatures.
