Job summary

El Segundo Sol, on the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, is hiring a Sous Chef. The role requires 2 years of sous chef experience and involves leading BOH operations, managing recipes, and ensuring top quality food prep and service.

Compensation ranges from USD 55,000 to USD 75,000 per year, with competitive benefits, PTO, 401(k), insurance, and growth opportunities within Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of sous chef experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Ability to lead and manage the kitchen staff.
• Experience running BOH shifts and overseeing operations.

Responsibilities

• Run BOH shifts and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations including food prep and cooking; monitor inventory and supervise all BOH teams.
• Lead BOH pre-shift meetings and participate in line, temp and cooler checks and tastings.
• Partner with GM/chefs to review and maintain recipe books.
• Perform regular line checks to ensure menu item quality.
• Purchase and order food products and supplies daily.
• Assist with tracking and controlling food cost.
• Ensure clear communication of production needs between FOH and BOH.
• Hire, onboard, train, and develop BOH employees with the GM/management team.
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams.
• Handle guest, vendor, and employee challenges with tact and courtesy.
• Work varied shifts across multiple sites; some early mornings, late nights, weekends.
• Move up to 10 lbs; frequently 25 lbs; occasionally 50 lbs.
• Lead and manage the kitchen staff.
