Job summary

Compass Group USA in Durango, CO is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef by preparing and cooking foods and coordinating the kitchen team. This PM shift runs Thursday through Monday from 12:00 am to 9:00 pm at Fort Lewis College, with online applications accepted only.

Candidates must have prior culinary and supervisory experience. The role includes supervising hourly staff, maintaining sanitation, managing inventory, and ensuring meal quality and timely production.

Qualifications

• Prior culinary experience and supervisory experience are required.

Responsibilities

• Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards.
• Supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, and reviews.
• Maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; ensures proper food handling and serving temperatures.
• Interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Keeps up with peak production and service hours; monitors inventory and deliveries.
