Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to shape end-to-end solutions across business processes, data, applications, and integrations. The role anchors in Order-to-Cash and collaborates with product, finance, supply chain, and IT leaders to translate business needs into scalable designs.

This senior role requires 8+ years in IT with 5+ years in architecture, experience with SAP S/4 and SAP MDG, and a track record of mentoring architecture teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in architecture.
• Experience in energy, manufacturing, logistics, or regulated environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports architectural governance, standards, and solution reviews with reusable patterns and decision governance.
• Designs enterprise-scale architectures spanning multiple systems and platforms with end-to-end ownership.
• Architects solutions for modernization efforts to improve agility, scalability, and efficiency.
• Serves as primary architectural advisor for cross-functional delivery and coordinates with product, engineering, data, cybersecurity, and finance teams.
• Defines and enforces architecture standards, interfaces, data sources, and non-functional requirements.
• Mentors architects and delivery teams to raise technical excellence and governance.
• Shapes strategic roadmaps and business capability models aligning with enterprise objectives.
• Identifies and mitigates solution risks, exploring emerging technologies and resilience.
