Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Lead Installer to guide a solar installation crew on site. You will review loading dock inventory, assemble modules and mounts, seal roofing structures and ensure a clean, safe work site.

You’ll lead the crew, provide technical support and participate in training sessions to keep installation methods up to date. Previous solar installation or related construction experience is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous solar installation experience required; or equivalent construction/military experience.
• Adheres to safety policies and reports hazards; encourages safe work.
• Ability to build rapport with customers and coworkers; communicates tactfully.
• Meets deadlines and key metrics; works in a fast-paced team environment.
• Willing to cross-train and support other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review inventory at loading dock to ensure the crew truck is stocked.
• Layout and assemble solar modules, mounts, electrical equipment and tools.
• Apply weather sealing to roofing structures.
• Assemble racking and solar modules as per project plan.
• Maintain a clean, orderly job site and perform project cleanup.
• Ensure safety for self, crew and site at all times.
• Participate in mandatory training on products, installation methods and safety.
• Lead crew through safe, effective installations and provide technical support.
• Assist with solar battery installations when assigned.
• May serve as acting Foreperson in absence of Forepersons.
