Job summary

Sunrun Inc. is seeking a Certified Electrician 2 to lead solar electrical installations, mentor junior electricians, and perform system upgrades at residential properties. You will install, connect, and service solar arrays, batteries, and related components while ensuring compliance with NEC and local codes. Travel up to 5% is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience preferred.
• Experience wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
• Experience replacing residential services and distribution panels.
• Ability to perform duties of a Certified Electrician 1.
• Valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification required.
• Clean driving record with background check.
• Must be 21+ with valid driver's license.
• Experience mentoring Electricians.
• Safety and customer focus are essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar arrays to the grid at customer sites.
• Ensure work meets NEC and local codes and high workmanship standards.
• Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
• Plan and complete main panel upgrades (MPU).
• Collaborate with branch team and homeowners for system upgrades/repairs.
• Mentor other electricians to improve skills.
• Train team on Sunrun practices and prepare for future roles.
• Work with licensed inspectors and crew as SME on electrical work.
• Address recurring quality issues and inspection failures to improve pass rates.
• Travel up to 5% as required.
