Job summary

Sunrun Inc. is seeking a Certified Electrician 1 to install solar systems, mentor junior electricians, and support energy storage projects. You’ll work on residential setups, perform panels upgrades, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with NEC and local codes. Travel up to 5% and training on Sunrun practices are included.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1 year solar electrical experience, and a valid Journeyman license or equivalent. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience required.
• Experience wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
• Experience replacing residential services and distribution panels.
• Must possess a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local/state requirements.
• Must pass a driving background check and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar arrays to the grid.
• Ensure work meets NEC and local codes.
• Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and resolve system problems.
• Plan and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
• Work with branch teams and homeowners on system upgrades/repairs.
• Mentor others to improve electrical skills.
• Train team on Sunrun best practices and prepare for future roles.
• Collaborate with license holders, AHJ inspectors, and crew members as SME on electrical work.
• Address recurring quality issues and inspections to improve pass rate.
• 5% travel required.
