Job summary

Sunrun in the United States is seeking a Certified Electrician 2 to join our residential solar installation team. You will lead installations, mentor other electricians, and install solar systems and storage while learning about new technology.

You will ensure code compliance, coordinate with branch teams and homeowners, and travel up to 5% as required. The role demands a Journeyman license, 1 year solar installation experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 1 year solar electrical installation and repair experience required.
• Experience wiring up to 600 VDC and 480 VAC.
• Experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
• Journeyman license/electrician certification required or equivalent per local/state rules.
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation of electrical systems interconnecting solar arrays to the grid at residential properties.
• Ensure workmanship complies with NEC and local codes.
• Complete solar battery installations as assigned.
• Troubleshoot system problems and resolve electrical issues.
• Plan and complete Main Panel Upgrades (MPU).
• Collaborate with branch team and homeowners for system upgrades/repairs.
• Mentor others to improve electrical skills and safety.
• Train team on Sunrun practices and prepare for future roles.
• Serve as SME on electrical work with license holders and inspectors.
• Address recurring quality issues and inspection failures to improve pass rate.
• 5% travel required.
