Job summary

Amazon's Ads Marketing MEI Engineering team seeks a Software Development Manager to lead a scalable, distributed services program across front-end, back-end, data and AI spaces. You will mentor 13+ engineers, define the technical roadmap with PMs and TPMs, and drive architecture and quality across 40+ services while promoting operational excellence.

Based in Seattle, WA, this role partners with Product, Science and Marketing to deliver measurable advertiser growth and insights, embodying

Qualifications

3+ years of engineering team management experience.
7+ years of working directly within engineering teams.
3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services.
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns across the full software lifecycle.
Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of 13+ software engineers building the communication platform powering Ads org at scale.
Partner with Product, Science and Marketing to define and execute the technical roadmap.
Drive technical strategy, architecture decisions, and long-term vision for 40+ services across front-end, back-end, big data and AI spaces.
