Job summary

Progressive Leasing is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive hands-on coding and technical direction in a remote-capable role across the US. You’ll own multi-service backend platforms (C#/.NET and Java/Spring Boot) on Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and mentor a team while delivering production software.

Daily you’ll write code, review architecture, and champion AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and align with business goals in lease-to-own fintech.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and hands-on coding daily.
• Deep expertise in C#/.NET or Java/Spring with cross‑stack capability.
• Daily fluency with AI coding tools and healthy coding habits.
• Experience building internal tooling/automation to reduce manual work.
• Curiosity about lease‑to‑own business logic and payments.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship production code regularly in a hands-on role.
• Own technical decisions across a multi-service backend platform.
• Use AI assistants to write, review, and ship code faster and better.
• Design cross-service initiatives and mentor engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and drive best practices.
