As a Lead Software Engineer within the Next GenerationAvionics (NGA) group at Honeywell, you will have a significant role in the design,architecture and deployment of cutting-edge Display Systems thatenhance the situational awareness and decision-making capabilities of pilots,by delivering innovative features, implementing functionalities, enhancing theuser experience and the overall advancement of technology.

You will workclosely with cross-functional technical teams to ensure the successful development anddelivery of high-quality Anthem Display Platform software solutions. Your technical expertiseand innovative mindset will be crucial in ensuring the successful design,development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions, ensuring we continue pushing the boundaries of avionics technology

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the design, development, and implementation of advanced Display Platform software solutions that meet project and customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions for avionics display systems, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Drive software design process, applying best practices in software engineering and agile methodologies
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and propose solutions to drive product advantages and operational efficiencies,contributing to the ongoing evolution of our avionics systems.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies; explore and integrate innovative solutions into existing and new products to maintain competitive advantage.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in embedded software design and development.
  • Proven experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded software development.
WE VALUE
  • Understanding varioussoftware developmentlifecycle
  • Experience operating in an Agile framework
  • Proficiency inC/C++,Pythonand/or Open GL
  • Knowledge ofsoftware configuration managementand change management practices
  • Ability to lead technical projects, coordinate cross-functional tasks, and drive collaborative efforts across technical teams
  • Expertise in Displays and Graphics software is of value
  • Experiencewith Avionics standards, including A661/A664 standard for aircraft cockpitdisplays and DO-178C is desired
  • Can quickly analyze, incorporate/prototype, and apply new information and concepts
  • Strongaccountabilitywith bias for action
  • Assertive drive to sound technical and robust solutions
  • Knowledge ofsoftware configuration managementandchange managementpractice
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Ability to find the correct balance between demand and capacity when establishing priorities for the organization
