Job summary

JPMorganChase in Jersey City is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments team. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering trusted, scalable software while enhancing security and reliability across multiple business functions.

You will champion quality engineering, test automation, and AI-assisted development tools, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and guide the team through complex projects with high visibility and impact on product

Qualifications

7+ years hands-on Software Development Life Cycle experience
Advanced testing automation framework experience
Hands-on system design, development, testing, and operations
Advanced in Java or similar language
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
Hands-on building/maintaining automation frameworks at scale
Experience using AI-assisted software development tools in coding, review, and testing
Strong understanding of secure coding and validation standards
Experience with Agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security)
Familiarity with cloud/AI/ML concepts in engineering workflows

Responsibilities

Advocate for quality and test disciplines with hands-on QA and automation
Stay current with AI, test automation, and quality engineering trends
Lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery
Apply SDLC tools to improve automation value across projects
Adapt to fast-changing business needs in a high-pressure environment
Manage large, complex, high-visibility projects
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for rapid validation
