Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Consumer and Community Banking technology team in Jersey City. You will be a core technical contributor, delivering trusted technology products in a secure, scalable manner and guiding architectural decisions across multiple domains.

You will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and drive adoption of enterprise AI-assisted development practices while ensuring secure coding, testing, and high-quality production code across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, including system design, application development, testing, and operational support.
• Proficiency in back-end technologies (e.g., Java, Springboot, Python) with experience building microservices-based applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), distributed systems, and web technologies, including RESTful APIs and web services, WebSockets, and JSON.
• Hands-on experience designing and building scalable applications using SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and CI/CD.
• Demonstrated experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches.
• Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams on architectural designs and applicability.
• Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and outcomes.
• Applies SDLC tools to improve automation value.
• Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
