Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned software engineer to take full stack ownership and drive design for Hogan Umbrella systems. The role requires deep expertise in IMS DB, CICS, and related IBM utilities, with strong background in full stack development and operational reliability.

The candidate should be able to design, test, debug and document complex system software, provide technical consulting on projects, and mentor teams while aligning with security and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant experience.
• Ability to provide technical architectural direction input for Hogan systems processing.
• Provide strong technical support to the Hogan Umbrella development team.
• Strong Hogan Umbrella, Assembler, IMS DB skills; CICS skills; IBM/BMC utilities knowledge.
• Knowledge of GitLab, CD/CI pipelines, Java, Groovy, Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, operate and maintain products.
• Take full stack ownership by writing production-ready code.
• Ensure optimal design with architectural best practices for scalability, reliability and performance.
• Analyze failures, propose design changes and drive operational improvements.
• Prioritize customer experience in design and coding decisions.
• Incorporate feedback from code reviews to meet standards.
• Conduct code reviews to uphold engineering best practices and security.
• Ensure compliance and security best practices across product development.
• Contribute to innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Prioritize tasks, anticipate blockers and communicate delays early.
