Job summary

Akoya, an API-based network backed by major financial institutions, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to architect and build enterprise-scale cloud applications using AWS and Go. You will lead end-to-end software development in an Agile, financial services environment, designing distributed microservices and high‑throughput APIs that protect sensitive customer data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer architecting and building highly performant and resilient applications in multi-Cloud platforms using Go and AWS.
• Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the same domain.
• Expertise architecting, designing, and developing secure, high‑performance APIs, microservices, and fintech applications using Golang, Java and Python; RESTful principles; and robust security controls.

Responsibilities

• Defines and implements application‑level architecture across complex projects.
• Develops components and subsystems for the division with QA readiness.
• Leads test planning, CI/CD tooling, and automated quality gates.
• Advises on risk management and project scheduling across multiple platforms.
• Mentors junior team members and collaborates with cross‑functional stakeholders.
