Job summary

Lever, Inc. seeks a Lead Software Engineer (Editor) in Germany to drive the Editor 2.0 and AI-powered capabilities while continuing to contribute code. You will own the editor’s technical direction, delivery, and production health, mentoring engineers and shaping the roadmap with Product.

You’ll align with Product, define AI-native features, and promote best practices in reliability, testing, and collaboration in a fast-moving SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with 1–2 years in a technical lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience shipping consumer-facing web products at scale.
• Experience with complex page builders or visual editors is preferred.
• Proven experience delivering AI-powered product features beyond AI coding assistants.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers on roadmaps and strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of the editor and AI-powered capabilities.
• Lead sprint planning, task breakdown, prioritization, and blockers.
• Hands-on contribution on critical-path work to deliver features to production.
• Set high standards for code reviews, testing, and reliability.
• Own incident response and production health for the editor.
