Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Software Engineer (Level 2) to develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including analytics, real-time applications, and large data processing. You may lead teams, review code, test components, and drive improvements with focus on system design and trade-offs.

The role requires a BS in CS/CE or related field, 14 years of SWE experience, TS/SCI with polygraph, and the ability to lead development efforts while ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 14 years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
• 4 years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership: Lead one or more software development teams and ensure work meets process constraints
• Complex Development: Design or implement complex algorithms with timing and resource constraints
• System Design & Integration: Collaborate with system/hardware engineers to derive software requirements and interfaces
• Quality Control: Perform quality control on team products and improve documentation and processes
• Analysis & Modification: Develop and modify software using scientific analysis and mathematical models
• Installation & Monitoring: Coordinate software installation and monitor equipment to meet specs
• Documentation: Write or review software and system documentation
• Database Interaction: Design or implement complex database interfaces and queries
