Job summary

AeroVironment, based in California, seeks a highly experienced Computer Scientist to lead verification and sustainment of complex hardware and software systems used in mission-critical operations.

You will design and execute rigorous testing, update firmware, validate configurations, and provide backup system administration while collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting results for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in hardware/software testing, or 2 years with a Master’s.
• Experience updating firmware and validating configurations.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Test hardware capabilities and document performance.
• Update and maintain firmware for hardware platforms.
• Validate configuration information across software, hardware, and networks.
• Provide backup system administration support.
• Analyze hardware/software restrictions for network integration.
• Perform software testing and reproduce field issues.
• Report bugs to development teams and assist resolution.
• Use PROTOSS for diagnostics and reporting.
• Install and troubleshoot on HW platforms across projects.
• Automate testing and configuration tasks with scripting (JS, Python, C#).
• Document testing practices and outcomes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share findings.
